What you should know about the role

Responsible for leading a team of project managers that will drive projects specifically related to key strategic business initiatives. This position is responsible for driving strategic and operational initiatives through the project management process.

Major Duties

  • Responsible for leading all projects that focus on achieving overall business results with a long term perspective. This may include projects related to mergers and acquisitions, cards, deposit accounts, member account structure and access, contact center infrastructure analytics and enhancements. Drive implementation-related activities for new projects and provides excellent support and creative troubleshooting as questions and issues arise.
  • Provide a structural and consistent approach to ensure that individual development plans are in place, performance management is consistent, performance management process is respected and followed, and coaching and feedback are provided on a regular and dynamic basis. Capture, analyze, and understand the internal environment, team dynamics, and talent capabilities to address organizational refinement, agility and growth. Provide strategic vision by creating and communicating vivid pictures of future business possibilities, opportunities, and direction of the future.
  • Responsible for consulting with other departments in order to define projects, and to build and execute project plans. Guide project managers and other departments to share information, create awareness of others efforts, and identify ways to integrate work either internally or with other external programs. Responsible for confident, articulate, thorough and systematic organizational communications with all stakeholders.
  • Lead quarterly strategy sessions with the management team to ensure strategic project and plans are on track. Prepare presentations to share with leadership including the senior management team on project progress.
  • Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control. Follows established company policies and procedures, including but not limited to: Sarbanes Oxley controls, Business Ethics and Standard of Conduct, Electronic Communications, Confidentiality and Privacy.

Physical Requirements
Is able to bend, sit, and stand in order to perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.

Working Conditions
Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.

Mental and/or Emotional Requirements
Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to complete basic mathematical calculations, spell accurately, and understand computer basics. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.

Skills & Experience

Five years to eight years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience.

A college degree and a professional certificate in project management or a post graduate degree is preferred but not required.

Interpersonal Skills
The ability to motivate or influence inside or outside senior level personnel is a critical part of the job, requiring a significant level of influence and trust. Obtaining cooperation and agreement on important outcomes via frequently complex, senior level dialogues, as well as a high level of professional communication skills are essential to the position, both written and verbal.
