What you should know about the role

The ATM Systems Administrator is the subject matter expert responsible for actively managing the efficiency and effectiveness, improving the performance, and overseeing the maintenance of Advia’s ATM systems. This includes gathering and analyzing data in support of systems management, maintenance, and performance. Working with the business units to implement enhancements and periodic releases; maintaining the test/training, and production systems; updating documents and managing ATM vendors. This position is responsible for applying strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve system malfunctions, improve the member and end-user experience, and maximize the efficiency of all ATM systems.

Major Duties

  • System Management, including all ATM system management, enhancements, efficiency, updates, system structure.
  • Responsible for backing up ATM Specialist as needed.
  • Track service events against billing invoices.
  • Manage instant issue program which may include tracking and ordering card wizard licenses, managing card machine maintenance program, monitor balancing activity, monitor instance issue card stock, assist with errors, maintenance and balancing issues, facilitate replacement of equipment as needed, coordinate programming updates with IT department as needed, update policy and procedures regarding use and reconciliation of instant issue and card wizard products.
  • Manage cash advance machines which may include facilitate the replacement as needed, coordinate programming updates with branches and IT as needed, update policy and procedures, assist with error and and maintenance issues.
  • Responsible for ATM and VAT program management including monitoring tracker online, updating ATM status log, orders cash for machines, and settlement.
  • Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to the Credit Card Card act, Durbin Amendment, Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
  • Serve as the key escalation point and line of business representative for all ATM system issues. Troubleshoot issues and identify solutions.
  • Analyze system deficiencies and recommend short/long term solution strategies to enhance systems and procedures. Provide support during the testing, training, and rollout of system upgrades and enhancements. Review profitability of ATM locations and ownership and provide recommendations as needed.
  • Represent card services as a subject matter expert on ATM system upgrades; participates in system testing; collaborate with other system leads to develop, implement and maintain project plans, including the configuration management, risk management, project measurement and quality management plans.
  • Act as lead for system improvement activities for multiple projects, new products, and changes to current processes, upgrades, process improvements and efficiency gains.
  • Responsible for facilitating or participating in meetings with vendors to retain and improve customer/client relationship in regard to ATM system and enhancements. Attend vendor conferences and/or participate in client user groups to maintain and improve knowledge of systems and promote vendor/client relationships.

Physical Requirements
Is able to bend, sit, and stand in order to perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency
situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.

Working Conditions

Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.

Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to complete basic mathematical calculations, spell accurately, and understand computer basics. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential

Skills & Experience

Three years to five years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience. Experience/knowledge of project management methodologies and application development lifecycles, supporting projects as a subject matter expert and/ or eliciting business requirements. Previous experience with automated loan origination systems.


A college degree.

Interpersonal Skills
The ability to motivate or influence inside or outside senior level personnel is a critical part of the job, requiring a significant level of influence and trust. Obtaining cooperation and agreement on important outcomes via frequently complex, senior level dialogues, as well as a professional level of written communication skills are essential to the position.

Other Skills
Broad knowledge of re-engineering concepts. Self-motivated, strategic thinker capable of tackling complex problems and influencing cross-functional teams. Ability to manage relationships and coordinate work between cross-functional teams. Ability to prioritize work based on predefined technology rollout schedules and business need.
