    What you should know about the role

    This position performs a variety of functions necessary to support the commercial loan origination process and ongoing servicing of the commercial lending portfolio, with particular focus on loan documentation. The individual will work with lenders, members, and other departments assuring consistent communications in a professional, timely manner. This position will work closely with other Commercial Lending team members to ensure that all of the commercial lending steps flow effectively and efficiently to maintain a focus on the member.

    As a Commercial Lending Documentation Specialist, you will have opportunities to:

    Major Duties

    • Researches and assists with a variety of projects as needed which may include preparing a variety of records or reports.
    • Responsible for understanding commercial loan concepts, policies and procedures and assisting employees and/or members with inquiries regarding commercial loans. Works with the entire commercial lending program team to continuously drive progress for commercial loans and add financial value for our members
    • Must maintain effective knowledge of our commercial loan systems.
    • Responsible for proper on-boarding or booking commercial loans onto our commercial loan system. This also includes the following recording of all applicable collateral documents, such as mortgages, UCCs, placing liens on vehicle titles or placing holds on deposit accounts.
    • Prepares commercial loan documentation with accuracy and adherence to the requirements set by the loan approval and the commercial loan guidelines.

     

    Physical Requirements

    Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs. Must be capable of climbing/descending stairs in emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.

     

    Working Conditions

    Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work environment with moderate noise.

     

    Mental and/or Emotional Requirements

     Must be able to perform job functions independently and with limited supervision. Must work effectively as part of a team. Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be able to perform basic financial calculations with accuracy. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under stress of deadline, requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on confidential matters.

    Skills & Experience

     

    Experience

    Three years to five years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience.

     

    Education/Certifications/Licenses

     A two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school equivalent to approximately 64 credit hours.

     

    Interpersonal Skills

    A significant level of trust, credibility and diplomacy is required. In-depth dialogues, conversations and explanations with customers, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors can be of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature. Communications may involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance.
